Why we made this site

Our long term goal is to provide you with an extensive knowledge base on how to go about installing an alternative energy system.

When we started working on our installation we looked all over the web, and nowhere did we find what we were looking for, a site that gives ALL the ins and outs of installing a system like this and that functions like a manual during the integration/installation phase of the whole works. We could have saved a lot of time,money and effort if we had had all the information presented in these pages before we tackled the project.

We want to help drive down the cost (by developing alternatives to 'off the shelf' products), avoid duplication of mistakes and to make these systems more widespread by enabling would be installers by giving them as much information as possible. Our current setup is made to function as a testbed while we take each and every component that went into it under a magnifying glass and try to shave it's cost, driving down the price of the installation as a whole bit by bit. This is going to be a long process, but given enough stamina and time I think we stand a chance.

Right now, with a bit of determination and some spare time you can start making this world a better place for yourself, your children and whoever else you care about.

If you are in a rural area, or you are building a new house on a spot that does not have power service then you may actually save some money by taking the 'alternative energy' route, bringing in power from the main lines can be a very expensive thing and that might help making alternative power that much more attractive to you.
