Inverter
An inverter is a device that uses Direct current battery power to create alternating current (AC) suitable for use with many, if not most, household appliances. Inverters come in two main types The Pure Sine Wave and the Modified Sine Wave type.
The pure sine wave version is the better of the two types and will run anything that can run on grid power as long as you do not exceed the watt rating of the inverter. The modified sine wave inverters are much cheaper and will run nearly everything in a home with the exception of motors and devices that use motors which may or may not work properly and overheat.
